What is a tourism operator?
Somerset Regional Council applies the Australia Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) definition.
A tourism operator is a business that provides a leisure tourism experience within the Somerset local government area across the following categories:
- Accommodation
- Attractions
- Food and drink
- Tours
- Accredited visitor information centres
- Hire businesses
- Events
General businesses are considered appropriate at the discretion of Council and must provide a genuine contribution to tourism offerings in Somerset that align with Council’s Destination Management Plan.
If you know of Somerset tourism operators that do not receive these e-newsletters, please ask them to contact Council’s tourism team to be added to the operator database, so that they don’t miss out on important industry updates.
