Offering a wide range of recreational aeronautical activities and facilities for anyone with an interest in aviation. A unique historical airfield close to the city but outside controlled airspace, providing facilities for recreational and commercial operators covering all facets of aviation. If it flies, it is welcome at Watts.
The Brisbane Valley Sport Aviation Club is pleased to announce that once again we will be holding our mid-year aviation event – the Fun Fly Poker Run 2019 on the 6th July 2019.
The poker run sticks to the successful formula from previous years – participating pilots and passengers fly to 3 airfields in the local district, collect a playing card and then onwards to Watts Bridge to complete their poker hand. We will have on offer BBQ treats, Soup and a Roll and Coffee and Cake. It’s all good low key aviation fun!
Remember - there can be multiple entries per aircraft, both the pilot and passengers can participate.
Every other year the skies above the Brisbane Valley resonate to the throaty growl of the Red Thunder Tactical Fighter Clinic.
The 5 day clinic provides an opportunity for Warbird Operators to socialise and refine their piloting skills. Many 'Eastern Block' warbird aircraft take part in these events, so Red Thunder continues its 'Russian Flavour' in both the flight training and social activities.

With a touch of wispy fog still hanging low on the Brisbane River, and 20+ warbirds parked on the airfield, the scene was well and truly set for the arrival of another 45 to 50 aircraft of all types, colour and persuasion! No doubt about it, this was defiantly up there as one of the best Watts for Breakfast ever!!
