Social Media

28/02/2018 Written by itstheadmin
Did you know that Experience Somerset is on social media?

Make sure to check out our Facebook and Instagram pages and encourage your guests to use #experiencesomerset and #somersetqld so that we can share their Somerset adventures.

A smart phone is a tourism operator’s best friend, it has all the technology you need to have an effective presence on social media. Make sure you share images (at least 1MB) of your tourism product (e.g. food, accommodation, scenery, wildlife, etc) or tag us on social media so that we can help spread the word and get #somersetqld on the map.

FACEBOOK CHANGES

Social media has become integral to marketing tourism businesses, but Facebook has recently announced changes that could alter how pages are seen on the platform. With the update Facebook are looking to prioritise posts that ignite conversations and meaningful interactions between people.

Read the article from Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg here.

Tourism Australia provides six pieces of advice for tourism businesses to approach social media changes in 2018 here.
