If you have been planning a trip to Kilcoy, March is the month to do it as the 2018 Commonwealth Games Queen’s Baton Relay is heading to the Somerset town on Tuesday, 27 March 2018 and we are celebrating!
The Queen’s Baton started its journey on Monday, 13 March 2017 at Buckingham Palace. Over 388 days the specially designed baton will travel 230,000 km throughout the world, before the message will be read at the opening ceremony on the Gold Coast on Wednesday, 4 April 2018.
To celebrate this once in a lifetime opportunity to see the Queen’s Baton Relay in Kilcoy, Somerset Regional Council is hosting a community celebration. Festivities will include a range of children’s activities, live entertainment and food stalls.
Get the kids into the Commonwealth Games spirit early and drop into the Kilcoy Visitor Information Centre to colour in a Borobi activity sheet which will be publicly displayed at the centre in lead up to the event.
Stay tuned for more details about the event on the Somerset Queen’s Baton Relay Community Celebration Facebook event page.
