Ready for some dam good fun?

Amidst our rolling hills, cultivated paddocks and rugged bushland lies the sparkling oasis of our lakes.

Somerset is home to the freshwater havens of Lakes Somerset, Wivenhoe and Atkinson, and there’s plenty of fish in the sea when it comes to activities at the dams*.

If it’s action you’re after, look no further than Lake Somerset, the home away from home for water skiers, jet skiers, wakeboarders and tube riders.

If a peaceful paddle or dip is more your speed, Lake Wivenhoe is the perfect spot for non-motorised watercraft. Motorised vessels are restricted to a maximum of six knots at Lake Wivenhoe so you can unwind in peace.

If fishing’s your game, you’ll wet your nets with the line-up of fish we’ve got in our lakes. Whether it’s swimming, boating, fishing or simply kicking back lakeside, our Somerset lakes will have you hook, line and sinker.

If you are dropping a line, before heading out to the lake, don’t forget to purchase your Stocked Impoundment Permit Scheme (SIPS) fishing permit. Permits are available online.

Lake Somerset is a water sport haven, with motorised and non-motorised watercraft allowed on the lake. Water skiing, jet skiing, wakeboarding and tubing are all permitted on Lake Somerset.

All dams are managed by Seqwater
