Looking for the perfect place to reignite your creative senses?
Travelling through Kilcoy? Then you should put the Kilcoy Courthouse Art Gallery on your “must visit” list.
Nestled in the picturesque Yowie Park, Kilcoy and alongside the Historical Society, Craft Cottage and Kilcoy Visitor Information Centre – lies the hidden gem, the beautifully refurbished Kilcoy Courthouse Art Gallery. Full of unique art pieces, displays and friendly gallery volunteers, you will find yourself getting lost in the artistic talent lining the walls in no time.
It was 1910 when the Kilcoy Courthouse Art Gallery was first built although the building wasn’t always the art hub of Kilcoy. Yes, you may have guessed it; this quaint little gallery was once Kilcoy’s courthouse and police station but don’t worry, that’s all in the past now. The building is now home to the Kilcoy Art Society Inc. and the not for profit gallery that provides quarterly rotating exhibitions, a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and some incredibly varied Somerset art like you haven’t seen before.
LOOKING TO WET YOUR BRUSH A LITTLE?
Not only does the gallery promote the diverse artistic talents from Kilcoy artists and surrounding districts, it hosts several workshops throughout the year conducted by visiting art specialists to assist those who would like to learn new skills of their own. What a great way to reinvigorate those creative talents.
In addition to the workshops and regular rotating exhibitions, visitors are invited to enjoy a monthly ‘Artist of the Month’ feature display highlighting talented artists from within the Kilcoy Arts Society – giving you the chance to get to know the artists behind the gallery.
VISITED AND LOVED IT? WANT TO DO MORE?
