The Open Door Gallery at Lowood, is more than just a space for all things creative.
It’s a place created by a group of passionate Lowood Lions Club volunteers who want nothing more than to bring creativity, art and fun experiences to Somerset visitors and residents.
It has taken nine years for the building to be restored and create a welcoming, open and inclusive space filled with interesting workshops, beautiful Somerset art, clever crafts and regular rotating exhibitions year round. The gallery is located in town and a short stroll from the Lowood Showground offers the perfect place to stop, revive and fall in love with the arts.
INTERESTING FACT…
The gallery building is special in its own right, the building used to be a storage building for produce. A train track use to run either side of the building to allow for easy collection of goods and assist with unloading produce used by the town in its early days.
