BOATING AND FISHING
The Brisbane and Stanley rivers form the picturesque valleys of Somerset – these meandering waterways provide a vast playground for anglers and water sports enthusiasts.
Lakes Wivenhoe and Somerset are a true fisherman’s paradise. The Stocked Impoundment Permit Scheme leaves these lakes well stocked with Australian Bass, Yellowbelly, Silver Perch, Dewfish, Mary River Cod and Saratoga to sustain the fishing fun.
For a real Somerset adventure, bring your favourite water craft to enjoy the excitement of freshwater boating, skiing, tubing or jet skiing. There is nothing like freshwater to excite and refresh.
For the more energetic a 56km canoe adventure on the Brisbane River from the Spillway Common or Savages Crossing is in order.
