Located at the southern end of Lake Wivenhoe, Billie’s Bay and Hays Landing offer the perfect destination to spend a day by the water.
Enjoy a relaxing swim in the calm, cool waters of Billie’s Bay. Bring a fishing rod, launch your boat, kayak or canoe from the boat ramp adjacent to the swimming area.
Drive out to the spit at Hays Landing, set up a picnic and take in the breathtaking sunset over the waters of Lake Wivenhoe. Make use of the surrounding grounds for a friendly game of cricket, footy or soccer.
FACILITIES
Billie’s Bay features a swimming enclosure, toilets, barbecue, three under cover picnic tables, ample parking spaces for cars and boat trailers, boat ramp and a large well maintained grassed area. We recommend you bring a gazebo as there are limited under cover areas and they are not close to the water.
Hays Landing features, toilets, barbecues, twelve under cover picnic tables, ample parking, boat ramp, large flat grassed areas and plenty of shady trees.
This great facility is managed by Seqwater.
WILDLIFE ENCOUNTERS
Be on the lookout for koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, pelicans, seagulls, kites, eagles, galahs, fish, turtles and other wildlife.

WE RECOMMEND
Please play it safe and abide by the rules when you are swimming at the lakes.
- Wear a pfd (personal flotation device) and stay within the designated swimming enclosure
- Bring sun block and a hat
- Aqua shoes come in handy for delicate feet
- Bring a gazebo if you are setting up close to the waters’ edge
- Dogs/pets are not permitted in this area
Lake Wivenhoe is open every day at the following times:
5.30am to 6.30pm September to April
6.30am to 5.30pm May to August

VISIT BILLIE’S BAY AND HAYS LANDING, LAKE WIVENHOE
Turn off Somerset-Wivenhoe Road onto Bryden Road opposite Mount Glorious turnoff. Once you have passed through the gates, turn left to Billie’s Bay or right to Hayes Landing.
