The Best of Queensland Experiences results have been released for 2019 to all tourism operators who are registered on the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW).
Don’t worry if you haven’t met the criteria yet, this program is a long-term strategy from Tourism and Events Queensland with audits undertaken annually, meaning you still have the opportunity to be identified as a Best of Queensland Experience in the future.
The Best of Queensland Experiences program aims to bring the Queensland story to life and wow our visitors with engaging, memorable and quality experiences. Each tourism operator who has a live ATDW listing will be assessed against the program criteria.
Visitors ultimately decide what represents an exceptional experience therefore the most important criteria relies on guest reviews with a weighting of 60 points. Tourism operators need to receive at least 25 online reviews over a one-year period, that’s less than one review per week. Tourism and Events Queensland have engaged a company called ReviewPro who collate your reviews from more than 175 worldwide online review platforms (e.g. TripAdvisor, Google, Booking.com, Facebook, etc).
Along with encouraging visitors to leave reviews of your business it is important for you to engage and respond to reviews. More than 80% of travellers will read online reviews before making travel plans and if there aren’t any reviews it reduces their confidence to book your experience.
